Originally formed to design and produce bespoke pieces for hospitality spaces, UMÉ is the object-focused counterpart to Umé Studio. Through UMÉ, we have been exploring craft and fabrication for a decade, building material expertise and relationships with manufacturers, artisans, and artists around the world. UMÉ and Umé Studio are parallel practices that shape each other.

Warm, modern living room with wood Zabuton sofa, patterned rug, coffee table, large windows, and wood ceiling beams.

The Zabuton Sofa. An elevated plinth with seating low to the ground fosters a new relationship in a space. The design of the wooden sides is inspired by the 'takamakura', the form of the Japanese geisha's wood block pillow.
